Couldn't see a filament section so hope its ok to post here.

What's people's experience of flexible filament..?  I believe one of the main issues is getting your hotend to a high enough temp.  I have the microswiss all metal hotend in my Wanhao I3 Plus so don't think that would be a problem..

Any other considerations, is it difficult to stick to the print bed or anything else?  Printer need to be enclosed like ABS?  Any specific settings that are best in the slicer?

Gaza07

Ive only ever run a few samples of flexible filament through my printer which printed really well, I dont think the temp was that hight and wasnt an issue, I think the biggest issue can be if your extruder can cope with it with out it spewing out where the wheel is, Direct drive extruders are far better for this and tweaking the retraction can help a lot.

Just watched a vid by Makers Muse which has some good tips on what settings to tweak. One is to disable retraction altogether.

Gaza07

I saw that video but never tried the no retraction because, I had already run out of the filament I was given and didn't have any use for it so didn't buy any    ~~

Bad Raven

No expert, but I have found that adhesion has to be restricted (I use blue tape) or the PEI bed covering is at risk from overgrabbing, and retraction adjusted to minimise stringing (using Prusa's pre-set flex config)

I've printed around 7kg of tpu, first my favourite for quad and model parts is Sainsmart tpu, runs nicely at 230c prints great on to PEI at 50c,the only flexible I turn retraction off for is very soft tpu like ninjaflex. Oh and don't smoosh tpu into the bed like pla, it doesn't need it on PEI.

Hope this helps

Well I definitely don't want to restrict adhesion as the corners of my prints are curling up, struggling to get them to stick

Nuff said  I will be trying my mag plate with PEI as soon as this current PEI wears out which could be a while unless I slash it like I have before

Yeah but fitting it looks like a pain and I haven't broke the current one that's on there :-S

Gaza07

It might not be broken but it isnt working well though coz as you said your prints arent holding on the corners, take the time and trouble to swap over and you wont believe how well PEI holds  ~~
