Interesting choice. Where will it be used, as I understand the resins reallly do SMELL!

If it smells really bad then it will be used in the shed  I'm looking forward to trying something different and the print quality is awesome  ~~

Well my new printer arrived very well packed and in working order, The setup procedure is very simple and very quick to do a quick test of the lcd and light and its ready to go,
pour some of the resin into the vat about 100ml and your ready to print from the supplied usb drive, there is a bird cage sample print to test the printer.

Was the printer worth the money yes its a low cost entry level printer that performs better than some of the more expensive models,
would I recommend it yes I would its a new model and there are some tweaks need to be made at the factory to avoid marking some parts,
and the alignment of the screen to the build plate,
One thing to note is that resin printing is very different to the normal FDM we mostly use now, theres is a different slicer and models have to be hollowed out and drain holes added to drain any resin trapped inside, it doesnt use any kind of infill that we currently use, the hollowing out and drain holes are very simple to do using  meshmixer, models are also often tilted to 45 degrees to make the printing smoother,

Is it messy hmmm well it can be if your not prepared but its really not to bad once you have a system in place to deal with the printed parts and use nitrile gloves,

Does it smell yes it does but I dont find it bad and when its printing with the lid on I cant smell anything, when the lid is removed after a print you can smell it then and its a bit like a decorating smell, which I dont find to bad or offensive,

There is a whole new way to learn on how to print with resin and any knowledge you have gained up to know using FDM will be of no use what so ever, even the support used isnt quite the same as with FDM but I will probably make a more detailed post later.

OK, here come the "maybe I need one but I'm suspicious" questions!

So you do a print, then need to change colour.  What is the process and how anal do you need to be?

How do you reuse part printed media?

What ensures its not part contaminated by the previous print process?

Hi BR I'm pretty new to this so dont know to much yet  you can filter the remaining resin into a container to reuse later a simple plastic scraper will get most of the residue from the head and the vat then just a wipe down with IPA and you can then use a different colour you can see in this video how well a scraper moves the resin about and how easy it is to clean off, I will post more prints and info as I learn, the printing process is pretty quick 25 seconds exposure for the first 5 layers and only 5 seconds per layer after that the layer height im currently using is 0.05 mm it can go lower the prints are pretty awesome, but its very different to FDM and you have new stuff to learn which is all part of the fun  ~~

here's the prints from the video

How much does the resin cost? Is it easy to get lots of colours?

Depends on the resin but you are looking at round £25 for 500ml

Unfortunately I have to sell my D100 due to I've found out I have an allergic reaction to the resin fumes, even though you can't smell them with the lid one.

Sorry to hear that Hozza. That's a shame.  :-/

My other half is allergic to 3D printing. Whenever my printing equipment is dumped all over her kitchen her face flares up all red and she suffers from uncontrollable fits of verbal abuse!   Actually, I'm more the one that suffers!

Out of interest, if you're selling, how much you wanting for the D100 and can I ask where you're based?
