Cartesian / Geetech A10M
January 28, 2019, 10:49:45 am
I ordered a Geetech A10M on saturday from amazon it was delivered sunday  ~~

It comes in a modular format mostly built so doesn't take long at all to get to the testing phase, There was two models on the card a dog and a lizard so I went for the lizard, It all started out fine but then the tail came unstuck from the bed, so I re-levelled the bed and the second one stuck fine, Heres a few pics Ive taken and a short video of the first prints.

Cartesian / Anycubic 4max
November 06, 2018, 06:04:49 am
I had been looking at this printer for a while when it came on sale on ebay and with the make an offer button enabled  :whistling:
well I couldnt help my self I bought one and,  I have to say its a very nicely made machine but rather heavy,
Anyway heres some pics

The build was pretty quick it has a very good manual and some parts are pre assembled, The extruder is a crappy mk8 thing which will be changed for a titan aero,
but it appers to be a nice printer even if a little slow compared to my delta's
I'm hoping to mainly use it for printing ABS

Heres a few pics of the first few prints

I found the supplied nozzle to be a bit dribbly so changed that to the normal e3d type I use and it was much better  ~~

General Discussion / Magnetic Rods & Balls
August 19, 2018, 07:29:16 pm
Anyone running a kossel / delta type printer and using magnetic rods and balls make sure you lubricate them or you can get some heavy wear,
I used mine with no lube and was never told to use any and have had some heavy wear,
I now use the grease linked below and it appears to have slowed the wear down considerably  ~~

General Discussion / HK Clear ABS
June 05, 2018, 03:05:51 pm
Anyone had any experience with hobby king clear ABS ?
I bought a roll but something just doesnt seem right, Tried it at 240 / 110 but the print was very soft and warped so I kep lowering the temps and ended up printing at 210 / 50
And the results appeared much better, I also tried to de laminate it and it seems to be stuck together fine anyone else tried this stuff,
Ive also got some transparent red and that seems fine at the normal ABS temps  :beer2:
General Discussion / What Lube Do You Use
May 13, 2018, 06:08:01 pm
Because both of my printers are deltas I tend to clean the ground rails now and then and re oil them I always use Tri-Flow,
I was wondering what other people use if anything and do you need to lube other types of printers ?

Its expensive stuff but supposed to be the mutts nuts in lubes

Cartesian / CoreXY Printers What Are The Benefits
May 13, 2018, 11:04:05 am
I'm pretty new to 3d printing and only built and used delta's as some of you know and, I'm very happy with what I have but maybe thinking of dipping my toes into the world of corexy, what are the benefits of this type of printer,
are there some designs that can be followed or is it make your own design only
Just looking for a bit of an insight into it before I spend any cash pics and vids may also be helpful as I'm not a fan of burning my eyes out reading long pages of text

Heres a few links to some of the electronics I bough to complete vorpal I will add more later  ~~

Servo Driver Board

Mini nano V3 (needs 2 for robot and controller)

BlueTooth Module (needs 2 for robot and controller)

10k Pot

Metal gear Servos needs 12 and prob best to get a few spares

Battery Case for 18650 cells

Switchs for robot and controller

Micro SD card sheild

Dupont cables worth getting some different lengths

ubec for robot and controller any tpe of 5v ubec will do I used 3a but 5a maybe better

I think that might be the whole lot  ~~

The controller uses a PP9 battery so you will need a PP9 battery terminal

When I tested mine I used a small 3s lipo so you could use the same if you dont fancy the 18650 cells mine does now have a pair of 18650's fitted
